MG811 Air Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Sensor Module
Description:
This text is a description of a carbon dioxide sensor module that uses infrared (IR) radiation to measure the level of CO2 in the air. It is suitable for projects that require a good range of CO2 sensing, such as indoor air quality monitoring, landfills, process control, and controlled environment horticulture.
The sensor module has an MG-811 sensor component, which is a metal oxide sensor that needs to be heated to a certain temperature. The heating process causes the CO2 molecules to separate from the air and be absorbed by the sensor. The MG-811 is more sensitive to CO2 than to alcohol and CO. The output voltage of the sensor increases as the CO2 level increases.
The sensor module can be used for greenhouses and medical projects. It sends an analog signal that decreases as the CO2 concentration increases. It also has a digital output pin with TTL output. The onboard potentiometer can be used to set the digital output threshold. When the CO2 level reaches the threshold, an LED on the sensor will light up and the digital pin will give a HIGH voltage signal.
